I'm only surprised because I was always under the impression that Billy's statue was always going to be moved to somewhere in the new development. I didn't know that the plans were to move it right next to the car park.

This is an ideal opportunity for the Trust to consult with the club-might not be a big issue to some but any improvements would be better than nothing.
Personally though I dont think we'll ever see the hotel built,but we have a duty to do the best we can given the circumstances IMO

Before the trust dives in can somebody tell me if this is the final position, because the application states its a temp car park with a temp plinth. Maybe it's being moved there whilst the work is being done.

It's temporary. The words 'temporary location' are cunningly written underneath it.
Additionally the statue is to be renovated in the very near future. How disrespectful.
Bates also sought supporter input on where the Chris & Kevin plaque should be located. Its location now is more of a scandal - it could hardly be worse.
