Renewed efforts to help Leeds Fans with Sedge Lynn Section 27s: Legal Help

Post by Rickd on Wed Aug 25, 2010 10:10 pm

The FSF are aware that well over a hundred Leeds supporters were issued with Section 27 Notices in the Sedge Lynn public house, Chorlton, prior to their game against Manchester Utd in January. The FSF have recently taken advice from a solicitor, Darren White, who would be pleased to advise any supporter who would like to bring a claim against Greater Manchester Police since it is clear that the notices were issued unlawfully. As you may know, the FSF successfully referred many Stoke supporters to Liberty after similar happened to them and as a result, nearly £200,000 in compensation was paid to Stoke supporters.

If you are interested in speaking further to Darren please contact Martin O'Hara, deputy chair of FSF Yorkshire Division for further information.

The FSF are renewing their attempts to contact Leeds supporters who had a Section 27 Notice served on them at the Sedge Lynn public house prior to the FA Cup game against Manchester Utd in January. The FSF are sure that Section 27 was used illegally and have a solicitor very interested in taking on cases against GMP. You may be entitled to compensation. NO information will be passed to the police by the FSF It is VERY, VERY unlikely you will have to appear in court. The solicitors will deal by way of correspondence. Dependent on your circumstances, it will NOT necessarily cost you anything. If you do have a case your details will NOT be passed to ordinary officers. You will NOT be hassled by the police for taking action. Taking action will NOT mean the police apply for a banning order against you. You have NOTHING to lose. At this stage, all we need from you is your name and contact details. We do have a questionnaire and it would be helpful if you completed this but it is NOT essential. If would you like to speak to the FSF about the possibliity please contact Martin O'Hara in complete confidence and with no obligation. If you do not have access to email please phone 0330 44 000 44

Please spread this via all Leeds forums that you post to. Thanks
